SALVATION...
Once again, it appears that there are words in the religious realm that trigger preconceived ideas. It doesn't mean that these words are wrong, for they are written in the scriptures, but I have found through experience that they may often be used in an incomplete or misleading way or superficial way. Most of these triggers words, over time, have hindered my understanding of God and his way and purpose. As each of these words do their part in hindering, over time, there has become a great amount of confusion within me and my vue has been distorted or partial or at times plain wrong. God has began to switch my vue over time and in this new vue, those triggers words are no longer triggering confusion. I hope in time that you will be able to say this very same thing.
Salvation is another one of these words. I see it written clearly in the scriptures, therefore, I do not speak against its usage, but you may not often hear me use that word for the sake of not adding to the confusion that may already exist among the people that I communicate with. Truly, if I were to use that word to someone who is not yet conscious of God among them, they would most likely turn a deaf ear to my religious jibber jabber.
Most of the meanings that are given for salvation seem to me proper and fitting. Of them, I often use the words 'rescue' or 'deliver'. There is another meaning within the root of the word which means 'defender'. That one seems fitting as well but I don't see it often used. Otherwise, 'rescue' is the common word that I prefer because most people along the path of their life have come to understand the idea of rescuing. I would go so far as to say that a child understands that word. So, there is not much to say concerning what it means to 'rescue', however, the act of salvation is what seems to have confusion tailing behind it.
You may hear a person say 'I got saved on this date' or 'there were this many people saved at church today'. I hear those type of phrases used very often and when it enters into my hearing, it never comes in settling. It most often disrupts my peace in a strange way. What exactly do they mean, 'I got save today'? Is it a one time event? Am I saved and now locked in to the entrance of heaven somehow? Can I become unsaved? These questions have plagued humanity for long centuries and I will not attempt to correct anything that has been written before this very message. I will, however, share with you a vue to consider as you ponder this word 'salvation'. I believe that if one vue of 'doctrine' or 'theology' is in error, it becomes like a lens over the eyes of understanding and everything that is vued through that lens becomes distorted or incomplete or partial in some measure. That is why I have no desire to defend any sort of doctrine or theology. I do not desire to teach or instruct or persuade of one or the other. I will leave that for the men of this world and their religious purposes. There is one teacher and one that can reveal the truth of all things. I prefer him over religion.
Upon being subjected to the lower, physical realm, our minds were too subjected to lower thoughts of God, ourselves and others. We took upon ourselves this lower way and therefore we became what we followed. Our heavenly vue became an earthly vue and our heavenly ways became earthly ways. Our spiritual vue become physical and our Godly infused desires became of our own selfish desires. In a nutshell, it suffices to say that we all 'fell' in this sense, each one of us individually fell as we moved into this realm we know as our life. We were taken captive by a dying mind. We were robbed of our heavenly thoughts and pure desires. We were deceived into releasing our understanding and wisdom and knowledge and discernment which came from the heavens of our fathers spirit. Our vue was darkened, blinded and brought into death. We became slaves to the error that sprung from within our own selves. We were brought into bondage by our own desires and lusts and pride which we gained in this physical realm. Do you see this idea of chains? I am sure you have heard this before elsewhere, but I wanted to reiterate. You could very likely draw to mind something that you have held within you, that you have pursued in error, and found yourself connected to it in a way that seemed impossible to break free from. I know that I have done much of this along my journey in life. You can find within yourself the idea of darkness, bondage, chains, error, slavery, deception, captivity. If you say that you cannot, I would highly advise that you continue examining and do not fool yourselves. Do not cause God to call you a liar concerning this.
Consider the things we just spoke of, it is clear what the idea of 'rescuing' means. God reveals himself to an individual in their own due time and manner, and upon this revealing of himself, a light is shine upon his inner self. That light reveals that persons bondage or darkness. That light reveals that persons condition and position. It opens the awareness of God into them. It is a revelation of God among man. It is the beginning of God in that individuals flesh. This is not a new message to us. Upon that revealing, the bondage slowly and surely becomes broken up through experience and a release (forgiveness) begins to happen within that individual. The light penetrates and releases. A new way begins to form as the individual becomes rewired. It is truly a rewiring or renewing. An old way becomes new. There is a continuous renewal and replacing. This begins when the light of God enters upon the consciousness of that individual and it continues moment by moment, line upon line, precept upon precept and as I love speaking with my dear musician friend we say note upon note. Some will read this while he is my daughters fiancé and by the time others read this he will be my son-n-law. Thank you God! Every movement, every response, every thought, every word, every action, every step, every breath, every note that we take is a part of this process of making all things new. This continues from the beginning to the end of our time. This is a continual rescuing. This is a progressive delivering. This is a moment by moment and what I call 'now' or 'today' or 'continuosly present' salvation.
Delivering us from our own thoughts, our own jealousy, our own desires, our own plans, our own lofty ideas, our own insecurities our own distorted imaginations. Rescuing us from our own ways and selfish ambitions. Our own anger and hate and lust and pride and impatience and frustrations and greed. Defending us against our own ignorance and misunderstanding and confusion and hidden motives. It restores our peace and defends us against the anxiety and restlessness and vanity that rears its ugly head within us day after day. It comes upon us and moves among us until its work is complete and we are made perfect and mature, lacking nothing. This is salvation. It happened before, it continues to happen and it will happen until the goal is accomplished among you and ultimately all of creation.
Salvation is not a simple confession or attendance or quote. It is not a dedication spoken outwardly or a feeling that just comes upon you. It is not like an exclusive membership to a club. It is not given and then taken away. It is a progressive action coming upon you and you receive it and endure it and at times turn from it or become distracted from it. It is a continual word speaking into your life of clarity and right way, but most often our own selves deafen our ears and we do not walk in this salvation. We are not affected by it from time to time. We are warned and instructed and empowered to move right and peacefully and honestly and with self control, but as you know, we often turn from this powerful wisdom and ability that is seeded within us by God. But God is faithful to complete his work. It is like taking an old chair, that is unusable, and renewing it, resurfacing it, and refinishing it until the goal is accomplished and that chair is able to sit beneath a table and be used as the people come and gather to eat or drink. It is like taking a slab of marble and chiseling it day after day until a new statue of a man is formed. God is rescuing us from the block of marble we are bound within.
Many say they are saved, but their life shows differently. Perhaps they have had God reveal himself to them in their inner being and perhaps they desire to walk right. I am not their judge. But I will tell you that when the true rescue comes to deliver your inner being from the deeply seated wickedness of your heart, you will know what salvation means and you will be changed by the love and power and faithfulness of God day after day. You will know that salvation has come. People will not question the authenticity of your walk. They will not vue you as lukewarm or covered in a grayish tone somewhere in the middle of black and white. No, in your presence, they will know that God is rescuing you from your old nature and your example will empower them to turn to God who will in time rescue them.
Yeshua came to show humanity what a 'rescued' man looks like. He came to show the world what it appears like when God delivers and God defends a man from the wickedness that plagues the created realm. Yeshua was the perfect example of what God will do for mankind, each in their own due time and manner. Yeshua demonstrated a walk of continuous delivering. He showed a walk of precept upon precept and line upon line as he moved and spoke and thought only what the father showed him. God was in Yeshua, directing and guiding and reconciling and keeping him safe from the evil that pursued and pressed against him. Yeshua means 'the salvation of God' or 'God saves'. Yeshua was driven by God and although his body left this realm, the same power of God remains with us and drives us into the same salvation that was in Yeshua.
I was in the darkest place some time ago and I could not rescue myself out of that way of thought and desire. It was too strong for me and I am certain we all experience that in some measure and in some way. I cannot give you the perfect definition of salvation, but I can surely say that God is rescuing me even as I type this message. It will continue through until it is accomplished fully and completely within me and within you and within humanity. Let us work alongside of God in his progress of saving us.
Whether you call him Jesus or Yeshua, he indeed is, was and will be the living word of God. He indeed is the bread coming from the heavens of Gods spirit. He is indeed the fountain of life in which we may drink from continuously and without end to quench our thirsty hearts and minds. He is indeed the salvation and rescuer and deliver of mankind.
Defend us God. Rescue us God. Let us take hold of your salvation and may it have its perfect way with us.
