SIN...
This is not a word that you would hear me use often, if at all. In the beginning of my walk, perhaps, but as I began to see the reaction people had when hearing it, I realized it carries with it the same preconceived ideas similar to many of these other words I am writing about. Many people do not process it fully because of a vue they have received and held onto as they have heard other messages, in other places along the way.
The word ‘sin' comes from an original word meaning to ‘err’ or ‘miss the mark’, which is the commonly shared definition. This meaning is proper and very much sufficient for many to move along their day, but as I look further into the word I found something greater and more impactful to me. That original word actually comes from a compound of two Greek words meaning ‘no’ and ‘share or allotment’. This carries the idea that under the condition and position of ‘erring’, there will be ‘no share’ in something. It is a condition we are greatly warned against and led to turn from.
To better see the present, it helps to be aware of the end. I say ‘end' to make it easy for the reader but truly it is not an end but rather a completion or fulfillment or goal of all things. The fulfillment and goal of all things is perfect love. If you are not aware of this, then it may mean little to you that you are ‘erring’ or walking ‘wrong’. Wrong is hard to detect if there is no vue of right to expose it. Yes, all things are moving along a course whose final result is that all things will be brought into perfect love. That sounds far-out and impossible from the vantage point that we currently hold, but in truth all things will be brought into this condition. Perfection is the absence of wrong and the freedom of all flaw and defect. As well as the guilt and shame and regret that comes with these defects. Perfection is right-ways or righteousness. It is purity or holiness. It is a condition where all things are perfectly right with no wrong. Nothing is lacking, nothing is out of alignment and nothing is needed to be added or taken away. The goal of God’s work and His anointed (Christ) among us is to bring all things into perfect love. This has been an ongoing work and process from the beginning and will continue until it is fulfilled in all of creation - that means you and I and all things in the created universe. All of life is moving towards perfect love and its fulfillment whether you believe it or not.
I know in the religious world, perfection is a hard word to speak about. They attribute it to Yeshua alone as being the only one to associate that word to. So to make it easier for the reader, the words 'complete', 'mature', and 'fulfilled' are also interchangeable with the word perfection. Complete love. Mature love. Fulfilled love. That is the work and renewing process that God has among humanity right now. You are not excluded from this present process at work.
Knowing the goal, did you know that you and I currently and presently stand in a position in relation to that perfection? We may be standing in different places, however, we are both involved in this moving force towards complete love and you can be sure we will be moved in our own due time and in our own measure and way according to the wisdom of God until this maturity is reached within us and around us. So, where do you stand? Where do I stand? The written scriptures inform us that we all have ‘sinned’ or 'come into error' and fall short in sharing in this goal. If we walked in perfect love or complete love or fulfilled love, then the created world around us would truly see God among us because God is perfect love. This message was passed along to us by God to notify us of our true position of erring and missing the mark of this. This position is not held against us in fury as most believe, but rather it is held in that very same love. The ingredient leads to the fulfillment. Just as lust is the ingredient that leads to unfaithfulness or hate is the ingredient that leads to murder, So is love the ingredient that leads to perfection. It is the perfect bond of love that contains us and moves us closer into God. Love is above all things and because of love and its unyielding power, we are able to move from one position to another - a better position in this fulfilled love. We are translated from one to another.
You may now begin to see some things coming together. Perfection is the goal and each of us are in a position short of this completion. In this position of lacking and needing and erring and missing the mark, as we mentioned the original Greek earlier, we can see that we are not sharing in the allotment of the fruit of this perfect love. Perfection is continually and constantly given towards us and within us, yet when falling short in error, we are obstructing this inflow of perfection being transferred into us. We are being rewired, so to speak, and as we error, this rewiring is postponed or hindered. God shares his fulfillment into us so that we become what he is. He is the ingredient of perfection and that ingredient is shared into our heart and mind in an unseen and indescribable and mostly unbelievable way. When he warns us, out of love and compassion, that we are missing the mark, as he is within us and having a perfect vue of our inner man, he is revealing the condition and position we hold compared to perfection. He sees our erring way, although hidden to the world at times, and as long as we continue in this wrong course, we are hindering our present and current share in the allotment of it. We are off course by the thoughts we entertain and the words we speak and the overall movements we make. As we move one way, we hinder the share of another. It cannot be both at the same time. You cannot drink water and breathe through your mouth at the same time. Every measure of error is in that same measure hindering right ways from outflowing through us in order to fulfill this perfect love into creation. Our light to the darkened places of creation are in a way, snuffed out by our wrongs ways.
Here is an example: Let’s say that I give you a destination that you must drive, which is the Grand Canyon. Along with the destination, I will give you detailed instructions, turn by turn, line by line, precept upon precept, moment by moment of how to get there. By my directions and council, you will reach the goal of the destination you are set out to obtain. My directions will take you straight there without any waste. It will not be an easy drive, but it will be a perfect drive. As we are driving, you begin to turn on the radio and put the windows down and stare off at the scenery. Your senses turn your attention from my way. The noise of the music and wind and visual disruptions begin to distract your hearing and my voice becomes less and distant to you. As the other input increases, my influence and power of direction is not received by you. The moment that my instruction becomes mute to you, you start your course in the wrong direction. You enter your journey of being lost. You are essentially blinded from the destination and your travels are in vain concerning the goal. You may try your own way, but truly you are lost. At this position and condition, you are not presently and currently and continuously sharing in the allotment of the fruit of the destination. You are not receiving what I have for you as I stand at the destination willing and able to share it with you. You are not receiving my way and you are prolonging your drive. You have turned from the intended mark and are missing the goal until your attention comes back to me - until your way is my way. Every inch driven is significant in this course.
You will arrive eventually, but the road traveled will be rough. At times more rough then you would prefer. Perhaps your trip will take several times longer or several times more expensive or several times more exhausting then it needed to me.
Hear the warning of what it means to ‘sin’ or miss the mark or err or turn from your sharing and allotment of perfect love. Do not ignore this beautiful revelation that God reveals to us concerning what is truly intended with you and all of creation concerning perfection or completion or maturity or fulfillment. Do not ignore the vue God has of you within love and what his perfect judgment determines must change. Serve one and receive that continual share of perfection. Serve another and your share will be hindered, obstructed and out reach in this life. What a miserable life that would be.
Turn from God no longer. ‘Sin’ no more less a worse thing happen to you. Turn from your erring ways, for in this goal and continual process of God, all things are possible. He is perfectly willing and able.
Sin no more my friend.
